Privacy Policy
Zombie City is a game. We collect what it needs to run, plus a plain count of how the game is used so we can fix what is broken and balance it. We build no advertising profile of you and we never sell your data. Some cities offer a short video ad you can choose to watch for a little in-game energy; what that involves is set out below.
What we collect
- Your account: email address, sign-in method, and the name you choose.
- Your game: your survivors, what they do, and your score.
- Notifications, only if you turn them on: a token for your device, used to send them.
- How your survivors do: when a character starts, and how and when one dies. Measured on our own servers, tied to your account, and used to balance the game.
- Which screens you reach on the way in, and how long you play. Only if you accept the cookie, see below.
- Server logs, and any bug report you choose to send.
- Crash reports, when the game or the app hits an error: what went wrong, the device, the system and app version, and your account id. Never your email or your IP address.
- Rewarded ads, only when you choose to watch one: a one-time random ticket for that view, and in the app your account id, so the reward can be credited to you. See Ads below.
Who else sees it
Google (Firebase), which provides our sign-in, database, notifications and analytics. Sentry, which receives our crash reports. If you choose to watch an ad: the ad provider for that platform, see Ads below. Nobody else. Everything is stored in Europe and accessed from Brazil, where the game is run.
Ads
There are no ads in the game itself. Some cities offer a rewarded video: you choose to watch a short ad and your survivor gets a little energy. Nothing loads and nothing is shared until you tap that button. The reward is granted only after the ad provider confirms to our server that the video was watched.
In a browser the videos are served by AppLixir. In the app they are served by Google AdMob. To show and measure an ad, the provider receives your IP address, device or browser details, and an advertising identifier or cookie of its own. In the EU, the UK and other places where the law asks for it, the provider shows its own consent prompt before the first ad and serves non-personalised ads if you decline. That prompt is theirs, and you can change your answer in it at any time. The random ticket we attach to each view identifies the view to us, not you to them; in the app we also pass your account id to the provider, which is needed to credit the reward and is not used for advertising.
Deleting it
Delete your account from the account screen, in the app or in your browser. That erases your account, your name and your devices, and it cannot be undone. Your survivors stay in their cities as bodies nobody owns. Logs and bug reports age out on their own.
Cookies
One cookie, and only if you accept it: Google Analytics, so we can count how the game is used. Nothing is stored on your device until you say yes, and declining changes nothing about the game. You can change your mind here at any time. An ad provider may store its own identifier while you watch an ad you chose, under its own prompt (see Ads).
Anything else
Not intended for children under 13. If this policy changes we will update the date above. For a copy of your data, a correction, or any question, email contact@zombiecitygame.com.
